Over 20 years’ of experience as a professional English linguist, translating highly technical Italian and Spanish documents into English. On-going experience in the medical and financial sectors, years of experience in the technical and automotive sectors with hands-on experience restoring a classic Triumph Spitfire to her former glory. Considerable experience in the sports and nautical sector as a kiter/surfer and mountain climber.

Using CAT tools since 2003. I work with Trados Studio 2022 on a daily basis, and also use MemoQ and Memsource.
Subtitling
- Timecoded English subtitles for Italian/Spanish audio/video.
- Timecoded English .srt or .vtt subtitles of transcribed English audio/video
Soft coded or hard coded .srt or .vtt subtitles based on the following parameters:
- Single line max. length: 43 characters
- Max chars/sec: 25
- Max words/min: 400
- Min. duration: 1000 ms
- Max. duration: 8000 ms
- Min. gap between subtitles: 80 ms
- Max. number of lines: 2

N.B.:
- Soft coded subtitles are added as an .srt or .vtt subtitle file in the same folder as the original video. Soft coded subtitles can be added or removed from the video and the video quality remains the same as the original.
- Hard coded subtitles cannot be removed and will always be shown in the video. Editing the video to add hard coded subtitles reduces the video quality with every burn. Hard coding takes an extra 0.5 hr for each subtitle to encode.
